Google's New Privacy Policy

Some differences with Google’s new privacy policy include getting rid of 60 different policies and replacing them with one that’s a lot shorter and easier to read. With the new policy it will take things that you have recently searched and put advertisements up based on those searches.  Also after March 1 any products by Google that you’re linked to your real name could appear.
Phil Simon from the Huffington Post says that Google new privacy policy will not be that big of a deal. He says that most business uses customer’s personal information to make their products better and more efficient. The article also mentions the ads and how they will match you recent searches and he says if you don’t want the ads then just don’t click on them.
I don’t agree with the article. I believe that Google’s new privacy policy will be a big deal and that it will be an invasion of people’s privacy. I think that the old privacy policy was fine and that they should just stick with that instead of trying to make it “better” and screwing everything Google has done up.

Copyright Infringement: Viacom v. YouTube

In 2007 the company Viacom International Inc. tried suing a video sharing site owned by Google named YouTube for 1 billion dollars for massive copyright infringement. Viacom was suing YouTube for allowing users to upload videos owned by Viacom and not asking for their permission. The judge ruled in YouTube's favor because YouTube is viewed by so many people a day and they don't always have control over who post on their website.

Internet Safety

Internet Safety are steps and methods to make you safe when on the internet. I think that the three most important things of internet safety are never give out personal information, never talk to any one online that you don't know, and never go to any websites that are inappropriate. I did not learn anything new from Deputy Krupp he gave the same very important information. Personally I can check to see the friends I'm accepting on Facebook and I can be careful of the website I go on.

Feed Reader Report

Between Google Reader and FeedDemon I liked Google Reader more for many reasons. One of the reasons is that Google Reader is that it is more user friendly all you have to do is search for the site you want and it will show up if there is an RSS feed available but FeedDemon it is difficult to find sites to subscribe to. Another reason that I like Google Reader instead of FeedDemon is that it is more organized. In Google Reader it is very easy to find the site that you subscribed to and look at the new information for FeedDemon it is difficult and annoying to locate the subscribtion you are looking for. Lastly I like Google Reader better than FeedDemon because Google Reader you dont have to download and open separtly than the internet unlike FeedDemon where you have to open up the program and then open up the internet to find the sites you want to follow. These are the reasons why I think that Google Reader is far better than FeedDemon.
